We are happy to see that so many of you showed interest in this year first event held by The Favoured Few. For us, this is going to be a whole new experience, not just because we never had a WFF event before, but because we are doing almost everything completely different. How the captains are going to be picked? Each country should choose their captain and contact @Generix or @Optic with his name, the deadline is until 01.02.2018. In case any country don't inform us, we will randomly select a captain. How the maps are going to be picked? Each country should choose one map, so that means 20 countries = 20 maps. About the guys who posted application for being referee, we are going to contact the accepted ones at skype, stay tuned. Let's finally move at the most important part of this topic. We have 20 registered countries, including the 2 ROTW teams, which consist of players from countries that couldn't reach a minimum of 5 players in their team. The registered countries are the following: Peru Arab League Chile Turkey Germany Argentina Israel Venezuela Czechoslovakia Brazil Portugal Croatia Spain Hungary Poland Lithuania France Russia ROTW#1 ROTW#2 ROTW #1 - (Captain: @Miha), @Dilow, @shady, @BoTToS, @Carmine, @Shinex, @AncestoR, @DirefulCrab, @Siisti-C ROTW #2 - (Captain: @Lonnex), @MaRTiNTo, @CG7, @OnePiece, @RuSO, @Optic, @PleXy, @WazeR, @MarveL New System: This time, we are going to use a ''Double Elimination Bracket''. Along with other important information, here is a detailed explanation for those that have never heard of this. Thanks goes to @Woods for the perfect explanation, good job. Group Eliminations: That's the first stage of our tournament. Our bracket consists 4 groups with 5 countries in each group. You can see the groups in the picture below: NOTE: We are going to update the groups always after any match is played. CLICK HERE to check what's happening in groups. Every team will have to play one match against all other countries in his group. That adds up to 10 matches for every group. This would take long, but we will have 2 servers, so 2 matches can, and will be played at the same time. Read about the ''Schedule'' at the end of this post for further information. So after every match has been played, a group should look something like this: (This is a simulated group/bracket). As you can see, the last team will drop out, the rest will advance to the ''Playoffs''. In this picture, Team 3 and Team 4 are the higher seed, while Team 1 and Team 2 ended up being the lower seed. This is important, and players should aim to be the higher seed. Why? Here is a picture of Group B for a better view. The team that scores the least amount of points is out of the tournament, while the rest will keep on going in the "Playoffs". Playoffs & The Losers Bracket Every match has a number, so you can see how it is going to be built up. After the ''Group Elimination'' is done, teams will be put into the so called ''Double Elimination Bracket''. Countries which scored the most points in "Group Elimination" will play against teams that scored the least points from another group. With that said, it should be clear why you have to be aiming for a better ranking. The losers of "Playoffs" will drop down to a different bracket, called the "Losers Bracket", where they still have a chance to win the tournament. What is the Losers Bracket? This is where you will end up if you lose once in the "Playoffs". You can drop down there at any given round, however if you lose there, you are out of the tournament. The Finals: In the finals, the winners of the "Playoffs" and "Losers Bracket" will fight against eachother. If the team that comes from "Playoffs" manages to win that match, the tournament is over. If they lose against the ones that are coming from the "Losers Bracket", they will be forced to play one more match. Basically, the team that's coming from the "Losers Bracket" will have to win twice against the one that's coming from the ''Playoffs''.
